“At SECAW USA, faith unites us, service drives us, and generosity connects our communities across continents.“
Since 2020, thanks to the generosity of women contributing just $10 each month, SECAW has raised over $35,000 to support 26 Catholic projects across all seven dioceses of Senegal.
Though the projects we fund often require only modest amounts ($1,000–$2,000), their impact is measurable, deeply transformative and far-reaching.
Our support typically falls into three main categories:
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Through these efforts, we extend compassion beyond Church walls . SECAW funds have covered school tuition for at-risk children, provided critical medical care for ailing nuns, and brought emergency assistance to clergy affected by fire-related losses.
REVENUE GENERATING ACTIVITIES
Our mission is to help clergy and communities in underserved areas become self-sufficient. We’ve funded the construction of a large chicken coop to provide food security at a Catholic boarding school and purchased a freezer and refrigerator that helped a small food production group triple its output while eliminating waste due to spoilage.
EVANGELIZATION SUPPORT
To strengthen the Church’s mission, SECAW has sponsored youth who otherwise couldn’t take part in Senegal’s most emblematic pilgrimage. Additional support has included the procurement of sacred vessels, vestments, and audio-visual tools to enhance worship. Most touchingly, SECAW was able to offer nine months’ worth of Holy Hosts to dioceses that could not afford them.
